Lori as Interior Designer

I became a designer in a different way than most designers. I have a bachelor's degree, but it is in elementary education! When I decided it was time for a career change, I was fortunate enough to be able to attend an apprentice program run by the 30-year veteran designer, JoAnne Lenart-Weary. JoAnne has owned JoAnne Lenart-Weary Interiors since the 1970's, and she continues to be my mentor. She has been featured on HGTV and is the founder of the Society of Decorating Professionals. She is also the co-developer of the scientifically and numerically-based, patent-pending color system "Color with No Regrets".

Lori Henry

In the program, design work was completed in REAL clients' homes on REAL jobs with REAL challenges and surprises. I learned not only design, space planning and color theory, but what the business of design is in the real world, not from textbooks or simulated, controlled projects like I would have had in a design school. I have 3 certifications. They are in Interior Design, Real Estate Staging, and in Color. It is truly a gift to be able to be paid to do what you adore.

I am a down-to-earth and practical person with one goal: to help you achieve yours. I will help you find solutions, choose products and finishes, and make your space more functional and more beautiful for the real life you live.

Lori as Real Estate Owner

I have moved many times in my life. I have lived in 9 states in my lifetime and have moved more than 12 times in the last 22 years. Each time we moved we purchased a home. In each location, I practiced my passion for decorating and I often increased the value of the home from $30,000 - $100,000. When I would prepare one of my properties for sale, I would dream of one day preparing homes for sale as a job. (I didn't know a job such as that existed at the time!) When I found out about real estate staging, I signed up for a seminar immediately!

You can trust me to help you prepare your property for sale because I've been there. I've been the homeowner agonizing over decisions concerning getting top dollar for my home. I know the emotional and physical exhaustion involved in packing up all of my things and moving myself and my children across town and across country. I've also moved during very stressful and devastating moments in my life such as due to a job loss and divorce.

I will prepare your property from a designer's eye, and with the experience and understanding of a woman's heart. I promise.

Lori's Life Journey in Allegory

"Just when the caterpillar thought her life was over, she became a butterfly."

I used to be a caterpillar. I did the things all caterpillars are "supposed" to do. I obeyed my caterpillar parents, went to Caterpillar College, married a nice, Christian caterpillar man, and had three beautiful caterpillar children. I lived a nice, safe caterpillar life.

Then one day, my caterpillar husband decided the leaves were greener on someone else's bush, so he crawled out of our caterpillar family. The caterpillar life was over.

Amazingly, I discovered that it was not intended for me to live the caterpillar life indefinitely. You see, I began as a caterpillar, but my High Calling was to become a butterfly. The journey of becoming a butterfly has been incredible. It has been filled with growth and pain, discovery and heartache, facing fears, adjusting to a new lifestyle, developing new skills, and even taking some risks.

Today, I am so proud of how far I've come, what I have accomplished, and how I have learned to make my life beautiful for myself, by myself. Yet, this growth was forged from the most pain I've ever endured in my lifetime, and hope to never endure again. But was it worth it? Absolutely, yes!

My wings may be wet and soft yet, but I am a beautiful butterfly anticipating the adventures that await me in the butterfly life.

"Never underestimate the power of transformation"
